There are a lot of people who disagree with President Kennedy.

Per a Pew Foundation review of 36 nations, an average of 67 percent of adults have an unfavorable view of Israel. 

In the U.S., 83 percent of liberals and 37 percent of conservatives feel the same. 

Ninety-plus-or-minus percent of the Middle East wish Gaza/Hammas had finished what they started.

I have a different view.

In an America that struggles to define the difference between a man and a woman, I certainly have no desire to wrestle on this issue.  

But here goes with a personal take:

• LOOK AT A MAP — Take a look at any map of the Middle East. In terms of size, Israel is Pee-Wee Herman going up against Godzilla. I lean toward underdogs. 

• FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO — Yes, I know. It’s popular to suggest that, in the Old Testament (Genesis 12:1-3), God tells Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Psalm 105:8 – “He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations.” – is no longer relevant material. Apply that same filter to the Ten Commandments?

• CLEARLY BLESSED — Watch Israel. Watch how they always win, always out innovate, always shine, always prevail over economic, social, and other worldly obstacles. Witness their creativity, maturity, perseverance, and courage. Those are blessings, one right after the other, that never stop.

• HYSTERIA, DRAMA, AND INTRIGUE — It has become popular among political activists, the left, talk show hosts, and other antagonists to proclaim Israel as an enemy. They’re not wrong about everything, but when you find a mouse in the kitchen and burn down the house, you may be guilty of overreaction. 

• THE BIBLE IS ALL ABOUT JEWS — From start to finish, most of the key players in the Bible are Jews. Moses, David and Solomon were Jews. The 12 disciples were Jews. Paul, the guy who once killed Christians and subsequently served as Christianity’s greatest spokesman, was once a Pharisee and always a Jew. Jesus was a Jew. Isn’t that a bit of a hint?

• THE JEWS KILLED JESUS NONSENSE — If you’re a Bible-believer, you know the Jews could not have done anything to the Son of God without it being part of God’s plan. The Romans actually scourged, crucified and released the body of Jesus for burial. If Jewish behavior toward Jesus marks them as bad guys, then the rest of us haven’t exactly earned our wings either.

• THE NEW TESTAMENT TOO — Romans 11:1-2 Paul – “I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew...” Romans 11:26 — “And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob.” More hints.

• WATCH WHAT HAPPENS TO THEIR ENEMIES — 2024 was not a good time to be a member of Iran’s proxy terror group Hezbollah. Israeli-modified cell phones literally blew the butt or other parts off 2,800 of that group’s senior leadership. Gaza lessons under mismanagement by Hammas Inc? Don’t attack Israel, and when you get called on it, don’t continue to threaten the guy who subsequently, decisively put you on the ground. 

• IF THEY’RE AGAINST THEM — Look at the enemies of Israel. Look at their cultures, achievements, governance models, maturity, economies, morality and future. Israel is most surely hated by those who cannot begin to duplicate their success. Israel is a bright light in the world — and that is clearly a frustration for those who travel in darkness.

• JERUSALEM — Israel is the only country in history that has conquered Jerusalem and yet continued to allow people of competing faiths to visit, live, and worship there. It’s not easy, but that inclusion represents a model that deserves recognition and praise. Instead, most of Israel’s enemies simply plot on how to steal Jerusalem back into totalitarian control.

• THE NUMBER OF JEWS IN THE WORLD — Hitler killed six million Jews. That represent approximately one-half the Jews in the world in the 1930s. Today we have just 15 million Jews. During Hitler’s rise, there were two billion people on the planet. Today we have four times that many. Do the math on how close Hitler and his many helpers came to extinguishing the Jewish people. They have earned protected species status. Now you know why 90 percent of all Jews live in Israel and the U.S.

One last observation.

Disarm the Middle East Muslims and you would have peace. Disarm the Israelites and you would have genocide.

That last bit cuts through all the anti-Israel hysteria.
