Putting the desire for power first, hypocritical Democrats don’t care about anything else

I just watched a YouTube video titled “Why Did the Democrats Fold and Reopen the Federal Government? Byron York Explains to Hugh Hewitt.”

York’s point was that the reason for the shutdown was to protect the Democrats’ signature legislation for the last 50 years.

That is Obamacare, which is a failure.  Obamacare only became law because 60 Senate Democrats voted for it against Republican opposition. The Republicans said it would never work.

In 2021, when the Democrats controlled the executive branch (the presidency), the House, and the Senate, they passed a one-year subsidy to keep Obamacare going.

They didn’t want to face the embarrassment of it failing. It hurts when you black your own eye. The excuse for the subsidy was COVID.

Then, in 2022, they voted to extend the subsidy for three years, until December 2025 (coming up).

Therefore the shutdown was all about coercion. There, Republicans were following the legislation, the law, that the Democrats enacted, forced through, shoved onto the American people.

Evidently, it was bad legislation because to continue Obamacare, to make it affordable, the government had to keep voting for subsidies to make it affordable for the American people.

The projected cost increase this year is 30 percent. I watched a video that said health insurance cost for some Americans in 2026 would be equivalent to the cost of a new small car ($27,000).

The group most benefiting has been the insurance companies (evidently with windfall profits). Duh, I guess Obamacare is a Democrat failure, delivering none of the promised benefits, one of which is you could keep your own doctor.

The failure of Obamacare being a major embarrassment to the Democrats, in an effort to hide the failure, Democrats were willing to shut down the government and to keep that shutdown going, for… They did so for five weeks.

Of course, Congress still got paid (talking about equity — something that needs to be changed) while 42 million Americans started to go hungry. Government workers went unpaid. Thousands of flights were cancelled, delayed (think health and safety).

Unforgiveably, the United States military went unpaid. When I was a young U.S.M.C. PVT, I knew how much my paycheck meant to me just to get off the base and have a (few) beers.

The undeniable fact is 13 times Democrat senators voted to keep the American government shutdown (that’s on record — history).

The price of the Democrat bribe to reopen the government… How about $1.5 trillion to $1.7 trillion — with much of it going to illegal aliens?

Something that we smelly Wal-Mart shoppers know is that the American government is about $38 trillion in debt.

To cover up their colossal 50-year crowning stupidity the Democrats were willing to hold the the American people hostage, let them starve, risk the traveling public, shut down the military, and then spend tax money that should go for the benefit of Americans on illegals.

Shouldn’t we have some benefits from citizenship?

Finally the real (expeletive deleted) is that the majority of Democrats are angry that eight of their senators sided to vote with Republicans the 14th vote — and open up the government.

The logical question is how long did these ‘dipsh-ts’ want to leave it closed, forever?

And you tell me they are not Bolshevik Apparatchiks who would “pull the temple down” just to oppose President Trump and hide their bad governance.

It ain’t Trump Derangement Syndrome. Instead, it’s the idea that the end justifies the means — whatever it takes to stay in power....
