“I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigration.â€
— Hillary Clinton

Mrs. Clinton and her husband – like most every other Democrat who has served in national office – are enthusiastically against or for anything until it becomes politically expedient to do the opposite.
It’s a terminal condition known as situational ethics and every special interest group in America exploits the thus infected with gleeful success.
This “manage versus lead†approach to governance is just one of many reasons America no longer has borders and even the pretense that we do has been abandoned by anyone with a brainstem. When even the self-proclaimed sanctuary cities among us are clamoring for relief, reality is no longer in effective partnership with denial.
Unfortunately, that still leaves us with a pantheon of illegal immigration miseries thriving under a basket of lies and deception. Our epic immigration scam is poisoning the character, security, economy, and intelligence of America.
Here’s how:
A bodyguard of lies — Politicians from both parties have been deceptive on our illegal immigration issue for 3-plus decades, but nobody has done it better than the Biden administration. With rare exception, if the White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, our (speaking of harmful realities) Vice President, Kamala Harris, or the Big Man himself, say something about our border security, you can easily assume the opposite is true. It’s gotten so bad that our demoralized border security guards are deserting and running to Mexico. (;
Sanctuary cities – This left-minded con has always been an insincere political ploy, and it’s easy to demonstrate. Witness the reaction in Martha’s Vineyard when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis relayed a few busloads up their way. It was instant panic. They put on a happy face and feigned concern, but note how quickly these hot bougies played hot potato with their hot tamales. It is easy for elitist thinkers to be lofty when it’s not in their backyard.
Glorified sympathies — Speaking of lofty, we live in a world of self-important people who confuse haughty idealism with honest realism. It may be comfortable to glorify one’s personal beliefs, but it is seldom productive. Doing good is harder than that – it’s is usually harder than about anything. Stewing in a self-congratulating “social-justice†fog as you delight in the byproduct of having a hardworking cheap lawn guy is not nobility – it’s vanity.
Chamber of commerce — The chamber talks as a paragon of free-market enterprise. They walk as a shill for crony capitalism. The business community loves cheap and exploitable labor and though chamber feigns ethical virtue on their behalf, their sincere dedication is to their own interests over our country’s broader interests. Ignoring the rule of law, winking at violators, and seducing politicians into ignoring their oath of office is not an act of commerce – it’s an act of banditry.
Closing the door — One of the greatest tragedies of our real-world immigration policy is that we fling open the door for those who can bleed our energy and resources and slam it on those who can propel America. Try being an engineer, physician, scientist, technologist, or otherwise skilled and educated foreigner trying to come to America legally – it’s a tedious, next-to-impossible process at best. My suggestion – mixing them in with imported illegal drugs so that they get here without discovery.
Immigration is a good thing. Illegal immigration is not.
In the former, newcomers enter our country in the context of the rule of law. They are steeped in earning their way through due process, personal responsibility and respect for their new world. In the latter, everyone begins their citizenship as a lawbreaker, are rewarded for exploitation, conditioned to hibernate in the traditions of their old world, and impaired in their incentive to adapt and embrace the culture of the new.
The great irony in all this – something the chamber, politicians and others benefitting from illegal immigration won’t tell you – is that there is a fast and relatively easy fix. All we need to do is start jailing, fining or otherwise penalizing the ones funding this dishonest dilution of America – those who employ the illegal and undocumented.
The same system that makes employers afraid to not pay payroll taxes can be applied to hiring illegal workers. There’s your wall and implementation of such would reverse the flow of illegal immigration flow within ninety days.
How about it — “cronyism over citizenship†chambers of commerce? How about it — “talk but don’t walk†Republicans? How about it — “glorified sympathies justify deception†Democrats?
Replacing the rule of law for the rule of power, pretense, profit and personal preference is dumb. Talking about a problem versus doing something about it is dumb. Blocking the world’s brightest minds while flinging our border doors open to empty hands is dumb. Passing immigration laws and ignoring enforcement is dumb. Deluding ourselves that we can protect and uplift foreign lands like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Taiwan and Ukraine, while surrendering our own borders, is dumb.
Most of all, confusing vanity and self-service with compassion and public-service is dumb.
It’s always been so. Any country that habitually ignores reality is dumb – and on its way to no longer being a country...
