There can be no doubt that Jake Pickering’s recent letters to the editor of this esteemed newspaper are the rantings of one infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) — the one disease for which there is no vaccine other than a good dose of rationality, common sense and the increasingly rare ability to think for oneself. 

In his alternate universe, there is no objective truth other than that which is asserted by the captains of officialdom.

According to Jake, all the world’s problems come down to two people: Donald Trump and Vladamir Putin ... with supporting roles played by Tom Cotton, Marsha Blackburn, Tommy Tuberville and Josh Hawley, et al. 

No mention of the “woke” administration in Washington that has somehow managed to drive our country to ruin. 

It is obviously the fault of both these evil geniuses that American infants can no longer get their nutrient-dense baby formula, but as long as Joe B doesn’t fall off his tricycle riding around the Rose Garden, I guess everything will be OK, especially now that those top secret nuclear documents have been liberated from “Dastardly Don’s” safe at Mar-A-Lago.

It would seem that Jake has been pickling for too long in the People’s Republic of California Kool-Aid. 

He must be an acolyte of  Governor “Serve the People’”Gruesome, (CCP) the man who disappears inexplicably but never had COVID. 

Yes, we know he was actually at a secret underground facility testing out electric golf carts, meant to replace cars, for the good people of the once-Golden State. 

Now, believe it or not,  I am in agreement with him (Pickering) about the right wing deranged RINOS (Republicans In Name Only) that we have representing us in Washington. 

They are, for the most part, an unholy alliance of clowns and ignoramuses who have lost their nerve to stand up for freedom. I am reminded here of the words of our 16th president of the United States:

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”

The timely termination of Liz Cheney can give us some hope that the professional mudslingers of the farcical Jan 6th Kangaroo Court, as well as this Congress in general, that has systematically expunged those freedoms, will be similarly put out to pasture in the upcoming midterm elections. 

How about “Glove” Romney next! 

When I was in Washington, the notion of a loyal opposition was still alive and well and it underscored the importance of compromise as a foundation of our political system. For it is in the light of vigorous and open debate that understanding grows and true democracy flourishes. Those times are long gone and it is sad to see. 

But while Jake has been pickling in the California sun, he may have failed to notice what a mess the liberal “progressive” left is in — and how they have basically subverted the constitution for their own nefarious political ends. 

Does Jake really believe that the Injustice Department and Feral Bureau of Incarceration (FBI) would have waited for almost two years (right before the midterm elections) to secure nuclear secrets held captive at Mar-A-Lago?

I have even heard it suggested that these top secret nuke docs contained the nuclear codes used for initiating a nuclear strike. Does anyone out there in “Wokeland” understand that, in order to launch a nuclear attack, one would need to have the electronic “football” that always accompanies the serving president (Joe Biden) wherever he goes, carried by a military attaché. I wonder do you suppose that Trump had the football and the attaché held captive in the meat locker at Mar-A-Lago? 

More than likely the materials they were seeking were documents that exposed the real insurrectionists in our midst who invented the phony “Russiagate” hoax to begin with. I bet that DJT had copies made? Hmmmmmm… Ya think?

I would go to the mat to support Jake’s right to free speech as he has been able to express it so “eloquently” in the Asheville Daily Planet. 

That is a sacred right that is embodied in the Constitution so why is this administration, controlled by liberal Democrats, so fixated on doing away with it where any utterances contrary to its “official” narratives are considered expressions of white supremacy or, even worse, evidence of terroristic intent. 

Free speech in this country is anything that challenges the demons of PC compliance or the wise elders of “wokedom.” 

And remember no more gender pronouns — that (using gender-specific pronouns) is a pretty serious offense for which one might be canceled. 

I will try not to refer to Jake as “he” — but perhaps referring to him as “it” would be more to his liking?

Let’s face it, we are living in a wasteland of compassion and wisdom that is unparalleled in history, where the progressive left has made a Fauchian bargain with the forces of  world totalitarianism, the voracious military-industrial complex and the arrogant, cruel and criminal world medical establishment. 

The mad-masked COVIDians have taken over and have ruined our country, our livelihoods and our health. 

I won’t be California dreaming anytime soon because it has turned into a nightmare of lawlessness and totalitarian control. They have canceled the joy and passion of life through subverting individual creative free expression. 

Eureka! The “Golden State” is golden no more. It has become the “Prison State” — in which the iron bars of safety, total equality and political correctness have imprisoned the dream of freedom. 

It is a prison of the heart and soul that has transformed good citizens into “WE THE SHEEPLE.”

My advice to Californians: Escape while you still can! California is now the center of the new Idiocracy. Why not make Disneyland the capital?

I am sure that Jake would remind us that flying the Ukrainian flag, while preparing a good meal of barbecued crickets, is the essence of true patriotism.
