ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Asheville Police Department is actively seeking a third suspect in connection with the March 8 downtown shooting on North Lexington Avenue, which left nine people injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, with a large build, who is bald with a beard and sideburns.

“Police released photos of this individual on March 25, , identifying him as a suspect based on further investigation into the incident,” AI Overview noted on March 29.

The case is an active and ongoing investigation

So far, the two suspects charged are Calobe Leo Workman, 19, and Ashonta Foursha Basnight, 28. Both turned themselves in to the APD.

Workman was charged with two counts of felony discharge firearm from an enclosure to incite fear. On March 17, a judge set Workman’s bond at $30,000. His next court date is set for April 7.
