In North Carolina, the statewide general election will be held on Nov. 8. The election is also known as the “midterm,†as it is held two years (midway) into the four-year U.S. presidential term.
On Election Day, polls in North Carolina will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those who vote on Election Day must go to their assigned polling place.

Two Buncombe County bond issues
• Bond issue No. 1 — Approve $30 million in borrowing to conserve open space and create greenways, which would cost typical households a maximum of $14 a year for 20 years.
• Bond issue No. 2 — Approve $40 million for affordable housing work, which would cost typical households a maximum of $18 a year for 20 years.
