WALHALLA, S.C. — The A1A Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band will perform a musical salute to Buffett at 7:30 p.m. April 10 in the Walhalla Performing Arts Center, 101 East North Broad Street, here.

The A1A Official Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band is billed as “the first and foremost Jimmy Buffett tribute show in history.”

Regarding the show, a promotion stated, “A1A – The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show was born in 1991. 

“In 1992, the band won a Jimmy Buffett Sound Alike Contest for Margaritaville Records, and the ball started rolling. 

“In 1995, Jeff Pike performed with Jimmy Buffett at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta, Georgia. 

“The show was recorded and released as ‘Jimmy Buffett’s Barometer Soup Radio Special.’ A show, which along with Jeff’s performance, still receives regular rotation on Jimmy Buffett’s ‘Radio Margaritaville’ on Sirius XM Radio.

“A1A has been extremely instrumental in the fundamental building and growth of the International Parrot Head Club community and the Trop Rock and Coastal Americana Music genres as they are today. 

“They were the first band to repeatedly headline the annual Jimmy Buffett ‘Meeting of The Minds’ Parrot Head Convention and many more landmark yearly Parrot Head Events.”
