NEWBERRY, S.C. — The show “Always Loretta” will offer a musical tribute to the late country singer Loretta Lynn at 3 p.m Jan. 23 in the Newberry Opera House, 1201 McKibben Street, here.
Regarding the show, a promotion stated, “‘Always Loretta’ is the only Loretta Lynn tribute show officially authorized by the Lynn family, bringing to the stage a powerful and heartfelt celebration of the country music icon’s life and music.
“Led by acclaimed vocalist Emily Portman and Loretta’s original touring band, The Coalminers, this production blends unforgettable storytelling with the timeless hits that made Loretta a household name.
“With performances that echo the warmth, grit and spirit of Loretta herself, ‘Always Loretta’ offers fans a chance to relive the magic of one of country music’s most influential voices.
“Emily Portman’s uncanny ability to channel Loretta Lynn began with her breakout performance in a national touring production alongside Michael Twitty and was cemented by a personal friendship with the legend herself.
“Backed by veteran Coalminers’ members including David Thornhill, Bob Hempker, Dennis Digby, Eric Kaberle, and Jean Anne Tarleton, who each spent decades touring with Loretta and supporting artists like Conway Twitty and Roy Clark, the show offers unmatched authenticity.”
