ASHEVILLE, N.C. —  The Montford Park Players will open its production of William Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor” at 7:30 p.m. June 6 at Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre, 92 Gay Street (in the Montford neighborhood), here. The show will run June 6-28 — on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. 

“Tradition has it that ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ was written at the request of Queen Elizabeth I,” Wikipedia noted.
