NEWTON, N.C. — The Lovin’ Spoonful, an iconic folk-rock group from the mid-1960s, will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 4 at the Newton Performing Arts Center, 160 West E. 6th St., here.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. 

Regarding the group, the NPAC stated, “The Lovin’ Spoonful were America’s answer to the Beatles! The band... exploded onto the charts sending their first seven singles soaring onto Billboard’s Top-10 charts virtually overnight...”
