From Staff Reports

HENDERSONVILLE — An event timed especially for “early-risers,” Hendersonville’s annual New Year’s Apple Rise will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 31 in front of the Historic Henderson County Courthouse, 1 Historic Courthouse Square (along Main Street), in downtown Hendersonville.

The Apple Rise was launched in 2016.

Promotions of the event over the years have addressed NYE celebrants, noting that, “instead of watching the ball drop in the Big Apple, you can see a big apple rise in Hendersonville this New Year’s Eve, following the London countdown.”

Besides the suspense experienced by the crowd from the dramatic rising of the gigantic apple, features will include a DJ dance party, swag giveaways, hot cocoa, games and craft vendors.

“Perfect for families with young children or those who wish to enjoy an early, alcohol-free celebration,” the website BlueRidgeCountry.com stated.

Admission is free.
