From Staff Reports

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. —  The American Elton, an Elton John tribute group, will perform 7-10 p.m. May 11 in the CCNB Amphitheatre, 861 South East Main Street, here.

As for the show, a promotion stated, “American Elton, aka Bill Connors, has portrayed ‘the Rocket Man’ from Hawaii to England, San Francisco to Florida.

“Featured on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and currently  in ‘The Greatest Piano Men’ show in (Las) Vegas, he also performed Lucy in the Sky at the official Liverpool celebration of Sgt. Peppers 50th anniversary.

“In over 3,000 performances as ‘Captain Fantastic’ he’s won several ‘best of’ awards . Dazzling world-class costumes, an uncanny resemblance to the ‘Pinball Wizard’  and an attention to detail all  help American Elton brings these incredible songs to life.”

Another promotion stated, “As Connors takes to the stage, he can authentically emulate the sounds and songs of Elton John to the point that you may even believe Elton is on stage himself! The show features some of the best songs, from ‘Your Song’ to ‘Tiny Dancer’ and ‘Rocket Man.’ Every tune comes to life with colorful costuming and authentic impersonation.”

Food and beverage trucks will begin serving at 6 p.m. Attendees are urged to bring lawnchairs and/or blankets.

Admission is free
