Celebrating the history, culture, arts and architectural treasure for which Asheville’s Biltmore Village has become renowned, “A Dickens Christmas†is scheduled for Dec. 2-3.
“For the last 33 years, this annual holiday event has been delighting children of all ages and bringing the spirit of the holiday season to bear in Historic Biltmore Village,†a press release stated. “The magic and charm of Historic Biltmore Village, filled with (Charles) Dickens’ carolers and lit with holiday lights after dark, is truly unparalleled.
“New this year: ‘A Dickens Christmas’ will also be featuring a Holiday Market with live music, activities for kids and locally made goods†in the Spartina 449 parking lot at 4 Swan St.
“Over two-dozen roving Dickens-themed acts will be performed throughout Historic Biltmore Village, including the chestnut roaster, as well as dance groups, instrumental acts, and other roving entertainment,†the release noted.
“Led by a holiday bagpiper, Santa and Mrs. Claus will parade from the Holiday Market to The Village Green to light a fully decorated 15-foot-plus Christmas tree†at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2. “We invite everyone to come and visit, warm their heart, and get into the holiday spirit.
