NEWBERRY, S.C. — “Material Girls,” billed as “a high-energy musical production,” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. May 8 at Newberry Opera House Performing Arts Center at 1202 McKibben St. here.

The musical “features talented vocalists and studio musicians who recreate the ladies that topped the pop charts with all No. 1 hit songs by Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga and Adele,” an event promotion stated.

“Hear songs from Adele’s ‘Hello’ to ‘Sky Fall,’ Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ to ‘Bad Romance,’ Cher’s ‘Believe’ to ‘I Got You Babe,’ Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’ to ‘Papa Don’t Preach,’ plus so many more. All the songs are done note for note, chord for chord, exactly like the originals.
