WAYNESVILLE —  A scaled-back — shortened and outdoor-oriented — 2021 Folkmoot Ethnic Festival is scheduled for July 22-25 in Haywood County.

The Folkmoot International Festival, a 37-year tradition in the mountains, was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival will open at 10 a.m. July 22 and close at noon July 25.

Details will be outlined as this year’s pandemic circumstances allow, but current plans call for a condensed festival featuring ethnic groups from within the United States.
