From Staff Reports

GREENVILLE S.C. — An “I Love the ‘80s” Dance Party — including a costume contest and appetizers and desserts — will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m March 26 at Greenville’s The Venue at Falls Park at 631 S. Main St.

Attendees are asked to dress in ‘80s attire “for this retro dance party,” an event promotion stated. “Besides the dance, there will be a cash prize costume contest for the best ‘80s costume of the night.”

What’s more, “attendees will be able to take pictures with all your friends and your ‘80s props in the photo booth.”

Besides the dance and costume contest, guests will be afforded the opportunity to “enjoy gourmet appetizers and desserts from Plate 108 (included in the ticket purchase).”

A cash/credit card bar will be available.

“They (guests) will even have a special dance performance of the famous dance scene from the movie ‘Dirty Dancing,’” parts of which were filmed at nearby Lake Lure, N.C., the promotion noted.

Specifically, The Foreverland Dance Team will be performing to Bill Medley’s and Jennifer Warnes’ 1987 hit, “(I’ve Had) the Tme of My Life,” from the “Dirty Dancing” film that featured Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.

The DJ will be Jumping Jukebox.

For tickets, which are $20 to $95 (and usually sell out), visit http://www.eventbrite.com/e/i-love-the-80s-dance-party-tickets-141525878623.
