UNC Ashevilleës Board of Trustees this weekend will hold a special called meeting, the main purpose of which is to consider recommendations for tuition and fees for the 2007-08 academic year.
The meeting will be held at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Room 204 of UNCAës Health & Fitness Center, following the December Commencement Ceremony.
The
trusteesë meeting is open to the public. However, portions of the
meeting may be closed to the public under the provision of the North
Carolina Open Meetings Act.
Meanwhile, the
schoolës first December Commencement Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday in UNCAës Justice Center. About 160 students are candidates
for bachelorës and Master of Liberal Arts degrees. A reception for
graduates and their families will be held in UNCAës Health &
Fitness Center immediately following the ceremony. Tickets are not
required.
The commencement
address will be given by Merritt Moseley, UNCA professor of Literature
& Language and director of the Universityës Key Center for
Community Citizenship and Service Learning.
Moseley, who
joined the UNCA faculty in 1978, was the 2005 recipient of the Alumni
Distinguished Faculty Award. He has published books on writers David
Lodge, Kingsley Amis and Julian Barnes and serves as the editor on the
"Dictionary of Literary Biography" volumes. Moseley holds a doctorate
from UNC Chapel Hill.
In case of
severe winter weather, the ceremony will be postponed to 10 a.m.
Sunday. Information will be posted on UNCAës homepage at www.unca.edu
