Ray Bailey†

About 220 students received bachelorís and Master of Liberal Arts degrees during Winter Commencement ceremonies last Saturday at UNC Ashevilleís Justice Center.

The commencement address was given by K. Ray Bailey, president emeritus of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and longtime champion of higher education in the region.

He was presented the Chancellorís Medallion, the Universityís highest non-academic distinction, during the ceremony by UNCA Chancellor Anne Ponder.
