RUTHERFORDTON, N.C. — Lake Lure business Lured Market and Grill got a reprieve from potential eviction at one of the two properties it rents on Memorial Highway, the Hendersonville Times-News reported on Sept. 3.

“Lured sued one of its landlords, the Town of Lake Lure, in June, claiming that it was being denied part of what it was entitled to under the lease agreement,” the HT-N stated. “For its part, the town started eviction proceedings Aug. 24.”

A North Carolina judge postponed the eviction hearing for Lured Market and Grill in Lake Lure to allow a higher court to evaluate combining the eviction proceeding with an existing contract lawsuit. 

The temporary reprieve delays the immediate ejectment action while broader lease disputes between the business and the town are reviewed.
