MONTFORD ?? Citing a lack of business, the Montford Arts Center at 235 Montford Ave. closed this past Monday.
The center, which opened in December 2003, features a gallery. It sponsored walking tours and an annual music and arts festival.
Several other Montford businesses also have closed in the recent past,
including Viva Europa, a delicatessan; Sweet Heaven, an ice cream shop;
and Pypers?? Place, an upscale caf?‡.
The center??s
owner, Sharon Fahrer, plans to continue to offer walking tours after
the closure. In addition, Trace Bates?? Montford Autorickshaw and
Historic Tours, a separate business, announced it will continue its
service from the center??s curb.
