However, he and ATPAC decline to endorse Miller, who will challenge Shuler
Dr. Dan Eichenbaum, the Murphy opthalmologist who finished a close second in the Republican primary for the 11th Congressional District to Hendersonville businessman Jeff Miller, recently conceded the primary, following a vote canvass that showed he picked up some votes, but not enough to demand a recount.
Miller earned 40.25 percent of the vote, while Eichenbaum finished with 34 percent.Miller will face U.S. Rep. Heath Shuler, D-Waynesville in the general election.
In the aftermath, Eichenbaum and the Asheville Tea PAC, which endorsed him in the primary, said they would not be endorsing anyone in the election. ATPAC Chairwoman Erika Franzi said her group soon will release ratings of the candidates, on which, she said, voters may choose to base their choices.
