State Agricultural Commissioner Steve Troxler (left) gave the keynote address at the annual Charles H. Taylor Holiday Dinner on Dec. 12 in the Grand Ballroom at the Grove Park Inn. He focused on the state’s financial difficulties and the need to try to cut costs and avoid increasing taxes. More than 500 people, mainly Republicans, attended the event hosted by Taylor, a former U.S. congressman. Leading state Republicans interested in running for office were introduced and a number of the candidates for congress spoke. The master of ceremonies was Tom Fetzer, chairman of the state Republican Party.
