Arson investigators are looking into a car fire at The Asheville School early last Saturday that may be linked to two other car fires and the burning of a mobile home.
A Saab parked in a remote parking lot of the private high school was ignited by a bottle filled with a flammable liquid, according to school administrators.
Fire officials were notified of the blaze by a teacher living nearby who was letting her dog out.
Buddy Thompson, of the Asheville-Buncombe Arson Task Force, said that
there were several other arson attempts in the vicinity the same night,
but none of them succeeded.
Someone threw bottles against two other cars and through the window of
a mobile home within a few miles of The Asheville School, but did not
cause any significant damage.
Investigators have one suspect in the case.
