Biltmore Forest board OKs requiring boat-trailers, RVs to be hidden from view
Tuesday, 18 December 2007 15:27

BILTMORE FOREST ó Residents of Biltmore Forest will no longer be allowed to park their campers or boat trailers in plain view in the town.

Town Board of Commissioners on Dec. 11 unanimously approved a change to zoning ordinances requiring that campers, recreational vehicles and boat and vehicle trailers be parked withing closed garages on private property.

Residents can request variances to the ordinance from the townís board of adjustment, and several residents already requested that their trailers be grandfathered in before the new rules were passed.

Another amendment to zoning that is currently being considered would prohibit habitual parking on the grass on private lots. The board did not take action on that proposal.

Meanwhile, Town Administrator Nelson Smith told the board that a $300,000 renovation of the Biltmore Town Hall should be finished by the end of the year.
