Turkish demonstrators wave banners and shout anti-terrorism slogans during a protest Monday in Kadikoy public square in Istanbul, Turkey. Twelve Turkish soldiers died in a confrontation with Kurdish rebels near the border with Iraq on Sunday. Turkey warned last Thursday that relations with its NATO ally the United States would be harmed by a U.S. House committeeís approval of a resolution calling the 1915 massacres of Armenians by Ottoman Turks genocide. In the aftermath, Turkey is considering making a military incursion into northern Iraq to fight Kurdish Turkey rebels using the region as a base. EFE/Tolga Bozoglu
