UNCA police report proliferation of thefts

UNC Asheville campus police recently reported the following incidents and investigations:

• SMC & Bolton Plumbing reported the theft of copper pipe, valued at $1,849.20, from Rhodes Hall on campus at 9:18 a.m. Jan. 17. • Nicholas Robert Offenheisser, 18, a UNCA student, was charged with a misdemeanor of under-age consumption of tax-paid liquor off-campus at 4:59 a.m. Jan. 13.

• Miranda Roper, 20, a UNCA student, reported the theft of her property at an undisclosed location on campus at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 11. The report said someone “entered through a window and carried away” a Toshiba “radio/TV/VCR/stereo equipment,” valued at $390.

• Brian Matthew Kidwell, 31, listed as unemployed, was arrsted on a fugitive warrant in the parking garage under the Dining Hall at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 15.

• An unidentified UNCA female student reported the theft on campus of a gold ring, valued at $100, at 5:25 p.m. Jan. 21.
