UNCA police report
vandalism, drug cases
UNC Asheville campus police recently reported the following incidents and investigations:
• A glass door was reported broken in a vandalism incident at University Hall about 5:10 p.m. Dec. 20. The door was last known secure at 3 p.m. Dec. 20.
The incident, reported by Ethan Fesperman, involved a blunt object, such as a club or hammer, police noted. The damage was valued at $500.
• “Structures” were reported damaged in a vandalism incident in the
south stairwell of Founders Hall about 7:28 p.m. Dec. 14. The property
was last known secure at noon Dec. 14.
The damage, which involved someone using a felt-tip marker and writing on the wall, was valued at $100.
• Two UNCA students were charged with using “paraphernalia to
smoke marijuana at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 8 at an undisclosed location on
campus.
Charged were Lauren Elizabeth Brown, 19, and Katie Lynn Combs, 18.
Listed as a victim in the incident is Jordan Elizabeth Jones, 18, also a
UNCA student. No other details were noted in the police report.
• A UNCA student was charged at an undisclosed location on campus with drug violations at 12:10 a.m. Dec. 5.
Aaron Hamilton Parsons, 19, was charged with two counts of
misdemeanor drug violations, including 0.05 oz. of marijuana and 0.30
oz. of “tar.”
He was confined at Buncombe County Jail. His bond was set at a written promise. His trial date is scheduled Feb. 11.
