Despite a late UNC Asheville rally, Samford University held on to win 12-9 in baseball on March 11 in Asheville. Parker Gargis hit a grand-slam home run in the second inning to give Samford (9-8) a 6-0 lead. Getting the win for Samford was Josh Ehmke, who is 3-1 on the season.
For UNCA, Josh Lett (0-3) got the loss in two innings on the mound.
