Southern Conference media picked seven Appalachian State University Mountaineers and three Western Carolina University Catamounts for the All-SoCon team.
In contrast, the SoCon coaches picked 10 Mountaineers and four Catamounts for their first team two weeks ago.
Both groups, however, agreed on ASU head coach Jerry Moore as coach of
the year and quarterback Richie Williams as player of the year.
In addition to Williams, tailback Kevin Richardson and offensive tackle
Grant Oliver made the offensive first unit while defensive linemen
Marques Murrell and Jason Hunter, along with defensive backs Jeremy
Wiggins and Corey Lynch, made the first team defense.
On the Catamounts, specialist Mike Malone, defensive end Rico Reese and defensive back Primus Glover made the first team.
