CHARLOTTE ÇƒÓ UNC Charlotte ended a two-game losing streak by beating UNC Asheville 81-73 in menës basketball on Dec. 4.
UNCC (3-4) was led by DeëAngelo Alexander, who netted 23 points, and three other 49ers who scored in double figures.
Leading UNCA (3-5) was Bryan Smithson, who scored 23 points; and C.J. Walker, with 12 points.
The Bulldogs
lost their fifth consecutive game to the 49ers and were outrebounded,
38-20. UNCC shot a blistering 51.9 percent from the field, its best
marksmanship since a season-opening victory over Hofstra four weeks ago.
The 49ers hit
their first five baskets and led 44-33 at halftime. UNCC opened on fire
after the brreak, going up 54-35 with 17:33 left, its biggest lead of
the game. UNCA cut the lead from double digits in the final minute.
