EASTLAKE, Ohio — The Asheville Tourists swept a doubleheader with the Lake County Captains 4-1 and 2-0 on July 13.
The Tourists allowed just one run and six hits in the two games.
The doubleheader was the result of the rainout of a July 12 game between the Asheville Tourists and the Lake County Captains. Both games lasted seven innings with a 20-minute intermission in between.
In the opener, Asheville scored three runs in the seventh inning, as Darin Holcomb swatted a two-run home run and Everth Cabrera batted in a run with a sacrifice fly. Bruce Willings (7-6) pitched 6-1/3 innings for the win.
In the second game, Connor Graham (8-4) hurled a complete game for a one-hit shutout, improving the Tourists to 15-9. Graham fanned six and walked two, while dropping his earned run average to 1.92.
