BOONE ó Appalachian State Universityís Board of Trustees approved a plan last Friday for the expansion of Kidd Brewer Stadium, the home of ASU football.
The expansion, which will include 4,400 new seats in an upper deck on the stadiumís east side, will raise the seating capacity to about 22,000 seats. The project is scheduled for completion in time for the 2008 season.
In addition to the additional seats, the expansion will include a new concourse featuring 200 new restrooms and expanded concessions and souvenir facilities around the stadium.
The expansion also features the creation of 400 new handicapped and companion seats that, along with the new restroom facilities, will bring the stadium up to code.
