LEXINGTON, Ky. ó The Lexington Legends captured a split of its four-game baseball series with the Asheville Tourists with a 4-3 win in front of 5,877 fans this past Sunday.
The game was delayed for one hour and 50 minutes, when heavy rains settled over the Lexington area.
The Legends jumped out to a one-run lead in the first inning, but the Tourists answered with three runs in the second, highlighted by a Matt Repec triple that scored Michael Paulk and Michael McKenry. Repec later scored on Jay Coxís RBI groundout.
With Asheville leading 3-1, the skies opened in the third inning.
Nearly two hours later, play resumed and, in the fourth inning, Koby
Clemens swatted a home run, narrowing the Legendsí deficit to 3-2.
Lexington scored two more runs in the fourth to take the lead. Neither team scored again.
David Parker (3-1) took the loss for Asheville, after yielding the Legendsí three-run fourth inning.

ï The Lexington Legends edged Asheville 4-3 in front of 6,957 fans in
Lexington last Saturday night. The Legends scored one run each in the
eighth and ninth innings to win. Koby Clemens, son of Roger Clemens,
the New York Yankees pitcher, smacked two hits and scored the
game-winning run. All of the Tourists scoring came from home runs,
including a Daniel Mayora shot in the first inning and a Michael Paulk
two-run homer in the fourth. Taking the loss for Asheville was Will
Harris (0-2), who allowed one run on two hits in two-thirds of an
inning of relief work.
ï The Tourists nipped the Legends 2-1 in front of 7,895 fans in
Lexington last Friday. Lexington scored its only run in the first
inning on a two-out home run by Jordan Parraz. Asheville scored a run
in the third inning to tie the game and clinched a victory with another
run in the ninth. James Burok (3-1) registered the win for the
Tourists, pitching one hitless inning of relief. Tommy Baumgardner
earned his ninth save of the year, pitching a hitless ninth inning.
ï Asheville jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and held on for a
10-6 win over the Legends in front of 6,976 fans in Lexington last
Thursday. The Tourists erupted with Anthony Jacksonís lead-off home
run. In the second inning, Ashevilleís Matt Repecís smacked a two-run
double and the Tourists took a 6-0 lead. Although back-to-back errors
by Daniel Mayora enabled the Legends to score three runs, Asheville
never relinquished its lead. Getting the win was Zach Simons (6-1), who
allowed one hit and no runs in 2-1/3 innings of relief.
