Asheville Tourists manager Joe Mikulik and seven of his players were named to the South Atlantic League All-Star squad for a game that will be played next Tuesday in Rome, Ga.

Mikulik, who has never lost in three trips to the all-star game, will lead the SAL South team for the first time since 2001. For the first time, the ballots included fan voting.

The Touristsí league-high seven players named to the squad includ first baseman Michael Paulk, second baseman Daniel Mayora, shortstop Hector Gomez, right fielder Victor Ferrante, catcher Michael McKenry, starting pitcher Keith Weiser and relief pitcher James Burok.

The Asheville starters for the South team will include Paulk and Mayora.
