From Staff Reports
EDNEYVILLE, N.C. — The band Too Much Sylvia will perform Carolina beach music along with other hits from the classic rock and soul era during a concert for listening and/or dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Aug. 15 at Point Lookout Vineyards, 408 Appleola Road, Hendersonville (in the Edneyville community).
Among the group’s most-popular songs are “Pillow Talk,” “Didn’t I?,” “Sho’ Nuff Boogie (Part. 1),” “The Moments,” “L.A. Sunshine,” “Sweet Stuff,” “Soul Je T’aime,” “Ralph Pagan,” “Easy Evil” and “Lay It On Me.”
A promotion said of the band, “Based out of Charlotte, Too Much Sylvia is not just a good-sounding band, but a fun group of guys, who love to play and entertain!
“By not playing from a ‘set list’ of songs, they are able to ‘read’ the crowd, develop a repoire, accept requests, all while pacing the event to fulfill the buyer’s expectations!
“From their history of almost 2,000 shows together, their experience not only with the music, but from working with many different buyers, gives the clients a comfort level even from the planning stages...”
Another promotion added, “Too Much Sylvia features three lead vocalists that are always having fun... Eddy, with his crystal-clear voice, to Steve’s funky soul sound, and Rick’s scratchy rock ‘n’ roll, (they) pretty much have the vocal styles covered. Their vocal blend and harmonies are, really . . . a major part of the 2MS sound.”
Too Much Sylvia was inducted into the Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame in 2019.
