| Composite sketch of attacker | Sheriff looking for suspect in attempted sexual assault
The Buncombe County Sheriffës Department is still searching for a man who reportedly attacked a Weaverville woman and attempted to sexually assault her Nov. 14.
Descriptions of the man were used to generate a composite drawing in December.
Authorities said the woman was attacked from behind outside her home on Clearview Lane while getting out of her car at 9:15 p.m.
The
man then dragged her into her garage, telling her he had a knife, and
ripped her clothes, according to Asheville-Buncombe Crime Stoppers.

Man faces multiple charges
after high-speed car chase
A high-speed
chase through downtown Asheville last Thursday morning ended when a
driver, being pursued by police, crashed his car into a light pole.
Jamison Thomas Hudson, 26, of Asheville led officers on a brief chase that ended about 1:55 a.m. on College Street, police said.
Lt. Wallace
Welch said an officer tried to stop Hudson near the intersection of
Patton Avenue and Otis Street after he was spotted driving recklessly.
Hudson reached speeds up to 80 mph as he traveled east on Patton and the wrong way on College Street.
Welch said the
officer considered ending the chase as Hudson was going 80 mph in a 20
mph zone, but continued following because the streets were empty.
Hudson faces multiple charges, including fleeing arrest in a vehicle, driving while impaired and resisting officers.
The chase was
the second high-speed pursuit for Asheville police in a week, following
a Dec. 20 incident in which a driver reached speeds up to 110 mph while

That chase ended
just before midnight, when Steven Richard Powell, 48, collided head-on
with a man traveling home from work on Brevard Road, leaving the man
with multiple broken bones.
City police
began the pursuit downtown after Powell failed to pull over for having
a fake license tag. Police Chief Bill Hogan said the chase is under
review. However, Highway Patrol Sgt. Neil Denman said troopers had
broken no policies during the incident.
Police dismiss theft charge
in case of mistaken identity
A charge against

outstanding charges. She was released on a written promise to appear in
court and has not yet been charged with a crime.
Downing reported that dozens of people gave false names last year after being arrested.
Lytle was reportedly embarrassed after people saw her name on the Asheville Citizen-Timesë Web site.
