GREENEVILLE, Tenn.. —   “The Nutcracker” will be performed by the Chattanooga Ballet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center, 212 Tusculum Boulevard, here, 

As for the show, a promotion stated, “Experience the timeless magic of this Christmas classic! Chattanooga Ballet returns to present ‘The Nutcracker’ with their professional company, students from Chattanooga Ballet School and dancers from the Greeneville region.

“Join Clara, a young girl at her parents’ Christmas party, who is gifted (with) a Nutcracker doll from her godfather, Drosselmeyer. This begins a magical journey from the battlefield with the Rat King, to the Land of Snow and the Land of Sweets. See the amazing dolls that dance at the party, the mice as they scurry around and the beautiful snow as it flurries around the stage. 

“Experience the fun as children dance at the party, the fear as The Nutcracker begins to fall at the hands of the Rat King, and the joy of all the sweets gathered to celebrate their young heroine! This is a story of youth and bravery — and one the entire family will enjoy.”
