A woman claiming to be the president of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, while proclaiming that the Honorable Peter Hegseth (who is President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of defense) is a racist and white supremacist, needs to provide some explaining for herself as she trashes this honorable man with lies about his character.
When I was president of the Asheville, Buncombe Chapter of the NAACP, I reached out to the Black Lawyers Association of Asheville-Buncombe County, only to be told that they could not help me because they did business with the entity I proposed to file a civil lawsuit against. And that I should call upon the NAACP Legal Defense Fund for help. And I did!
And I was told by them (the NAACP Legal Defense Fund) that they would come to Asheville to investigate my claim.
However, they said I needed between $7,000 to $10,000 for the investigation, first-class airline tickets for their entourage of approximately four to six people, a five-star hotel for accommodations, and a limousine for transportation.
“Wait a minute, sir,†would come my reply. “You are the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and I am one of your small member branches. And, we don't have that kind of money.â€
“I am sorry, sir,†would come his reply. “We are a Law Firm, NAACP Legal Defense Fund is just a moniker. You need to go back and have a fundraiser if you want our help.â€
This leads me to question just what is the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and, most importantly, what is this so-called president's real association with the NAACP, as she attacks this honorable veteran and man — Peter Hegseth — of whom I look forward to addressing the issue of the Reconciliation Memorial Shrine at Arlington (Va.) National Cemetery being illegally removed with the blessings of the outgoing secretary of defense who woefully violated his role and duty as a protector of the Constitution of the United States of America.
God bless Peter Hegseth — and God bless you!
