From Staff Reports
UNC Asheville resumed classes online on Oct. 28 — and will remain online for the remainder of the fall 2024 semester.
The university's decision to resume classes online was based on the hope that limited potable water would be restored to campus, according to UNCA.
The university's campus was impacted by Hurricane Helene, which caused power, water, and internet outages. The university's buildings were not damaged, but the utilities infrastructure was affected. The university relocated all on-campus students within 72 hours of the storm.
