KINGS MOUNTAIN — Three popular rhythm-and-blues-infused bands will be featured in the 25th annual N.C. Beach Blast/Kings Mountain from noon to 10 p.m. Aug. 17 in the amphitheater at Patriots Park, 220 South Railroad Avenue, here. 

The event is billed as “a taste of the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) with ... incredible beach bands, games, food and fun.” 

The featured groups will include the BlackWater Band, the Voltage Bros. and The ToneZ. 

The band schedule is as follows:

• Noon to 3 p.m. — The ToneZ

• 3:30 to 6 p.m. — BlackWater Band

• 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.— The Voltage Bros.

Among other event highlights will include a watermelon-eating contest, splash pad and a golf cart parade.

Attendees are urged to bring lawnchairs and/or blankets. Admission is free.
