The Dancing Fleas aiming to scratch Tryon’s itch on Aug. 16

TRYON — The Town of Tryon’s 2024 Summer Tracks series will conclude with a performance by The Dancing Fleas at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Rogers Park, 55 W. Howard St., here. 

Gates will open at 6 p.m. 

“Giving new meaning to ‘big band,’ The Dancing Fleas (a.k.a. America’s Premier Ukelele Band) are nine members’ strong and feature six ukeleles, as well as an assortment of vocals, strongs, percussion, flute and tap dancing (yes, tap dancing),” a promotion stated. “Playing originals and covers, this genre-bending show touts tunes with styles ranging from classic country to sassy funk. Expect dueling ukeleles, dancing and big harmonies from the band’s six vocalists (yes, six).”

Attendees are urged to bring lawnchairs and/or blankets. Admission is free.
