Marshals capture fugitive wanted in string of crimes

The U.S. Marshal Service??s task force took James Franklin Hairr, 21, of Asheville into custody on Nov. 25. Hairr was wanted by the Asheville Police Department for first-degree kidnapping and numerous other crimes that occurred from Oct. 11 through Nov. 4.
Police also charged Christina Suzanne Walton, 25, of Asheville with harboring a fugitive, according to Capt. Sarah Benson.

Hairr was charged with first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault inflicting serious injury, six counts of felonious breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.

After his arrest, Hairr was taken to the Buncombe County Detention Facility, where he is being held under a $771,000 bond.
