GREER, S.C. —Greer is one of 21 “Favorite Thanksgiving Getaways of 2023,” according to HGTV, which is touted as a “home design, remodeling and decorating television channel.”

The 21 locations stress both adventures and relaxation, with a list that ranges from Nevada to Costa Rica to Iceland, all the way to ...well, Greer.

More specifically, Greer ranks as a top Thanksgiving Getaway place for strolling, shopping and dining, according to HGTV. 

“Lynn Coulter with HGTV said Greer is on track to becoming the South’s next big small town,” the Greer Citizen reported on Sept. 27.

“She called Greer a European-inspired city, with a downtown area designed to invite pedestrians to explore boutiques, restaurants and breweries, as well as near-weekly special events.

“HGTV highlighted Greer’s 12-acre park and amphitheater, trains and old architecture,” the Greer Citizen added.
