GREENVILLE, S.C. ÇƒÓ UNC Asheville rallied to upset Furman 75-67 in menës basketball last Saturday. Leading the way for UNCA (3-4) was Vincent James, who scored a game-high 22 points, including the basket that propelled the Bulldogs into the lead with 5:35 left.
Another contributor to the victory was Bryan Smithson, who scored 13 points, including 11 points in the second half.
UNCA trailed 62-59 with 6:24 left, but went ahead and secured the victory after Furman (4-3) missed 11 of its last 13 shots from the field. The Paladins were limited to 30 percent shooting in the second half.
For UNCA, James sparkled as he hit 10 of 15 shots from the field and committed only one turnover in 29 minutes.
