BLOWING ROCK  — Tweetsie Railroad’s annual Ghost Train Halloween event, touted as a “beloved fall family tradition,” is running every Friday and Saturday through Oct. 28.

As usual, the park transforms from its daytime Wild West theme to a haunted theme park by night.

In addition to the Ghost Train, “older, braver souls” can tour the Haunted House and explore the Freaky Forest, an Aug. 21 Tweetsie press release stated. Others can enjoy a street dance and other amusements.

The 20-minute nighttime train ride is in an open-air car behind a skull-faced steam locomotive.
