Letters to the Editor: Reparations coverage praised; citizen lambastes panel chief for promulgating racist, pro-segregation arguments around city
Wednesday, 10 May 2023 20:48

Thank you for your (Daily Planet) coverage of the reparations debate.

I am convinced that the more your readers see Dr. (Dwight) Mullen’s arguments, the less likely they will be inclined to agree with him.

“I’m wondering what type of therapies are needed to change the DNA of America,” he said.

We can begin with the biggest and most painful therapy: the sacrifice of 600,000 American soldiers (or 1,000,000, if the revisionist historians are correct) in the only war I know that resulted in the abolishing of slavery.

That was followed by the painful therapy of reconstruction that affected both black and white Southerners. The shabby treatment of the South during that period at the hands of the Republicans is the primary reason that North Carolina was solidly Democratic for 72 years.

I hope the professor doesn’t think that our English common law should have its DNA altered. I appreciate not being jailed for a crime someone else commits, just as much as I appreciate not having to pay for the sins of others.

The only country I know where his recommendation is commonly practiced is North Korea. Surely North Korea shouldn’t be our model for racial harmony.

But there is a bit of DNA badly in need of changing. Referring to the last paragraph of the article in the April 26-May 9 issue of the Asheville Daily Planet, I find that the professor is practicing one of the ugly remnants of racism that I thought we had rejected.

Speaking of the PEAK Academy, of which he is a board member, he said: “Once you get a charter school going, you’ve basically got a private school using public money . . . Look at PEAK Academy. We’re resistant to integration . . .” (ellipses in original article).

I am pretty sure that using public funds to practice segregation is illegal. Perhaps we could change the part of our DNA that refuses to obey the law.

Manifesto of  trans-murderer of Christians: Publish it, reader says

To push their agenda, sodomite groups are now funding billboards across the land that say, “GOD LOVES TRANS PEOPLE.”

While technically and Scripturally true, it is also technically and Scripturally true that “GOD LOVES MURDERERS AND RAPISTS AND CHILD MOLESTERS AND THIEVES, ETC., while He, of course, hates the sins of murder, rape, abuse and theft.

Being dishonest reasoners, hostile to God the Truth and His followers, these groups, composed of children of Satan, the father of lies, naturally deal in falsehoods and half-truths.

So while it is certainly true that God, wanting good for all humanity, loves the woefully errant trans, it is also most certainly and verifiably true — as stated in the Old and New Testaments — that He hates homosexuality as filthy sin.

No longer a closeted, fringe phenomenon, homo-trans sin and terroristic violence is now sweeping across America.

In North Carolina, leading medical institutions Duke, UNC and ECU are now offering “transgender treatments” to 2-, 3-, and 4-year-old children.

Increasingly powerful and influential, homosexuals are now striking back at their old “oppressor,” the Christian church, and are targeting children, as did the witches of old, for death by mutilation.

The manifesto of the trans-terrorist murderer of Christians in Nashville is now being suppressed by liberals and kept from the American public, and from Christians in particular.

We demand that it be published forthwith, so that we may all see the full measure of the wicked hatred of God and His people that exists in the hearts and souls of the lost and demented members of the homo-trans community, and so that we Christians may prepare and arm ourselves accordingly.
