FLAT ROCK —  The musical “Mamma Mia!” — with what is billed as “an all-new performance” and shows through Nov. 13— has been brought back to the Flat Rock Playhouse, 2261 Greenville Hwy., here.

On Oct. 26, two performances will be offered — at 2 and 7:30 p.m., but showtimes vary for future dates. 

“Mamma Mia!” is the mega-hit Broadway show about a daughter’s dream, a mother’s secret — and is touted as a trip down the aisle that the audience will never forget.

As for the show, the FRP noted, “Catch an encore performance of the hugely popular mega-Broaway hit featuring the music of ABBA ... is back for an encore performance. Featuring songs like ‘Dancing Queen,’ ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!,’ ‘Honey Honey’ and so many more.”“You already know it’s a show you’re going to love! Bring your best friends, put on your dancing shoes, dust off your vocal chords and get ready to sing and dance along with us for a joyful night of pure fun and awesome music!”

In a press release, FRP Director/Artistic Associate Matthew Glover was quoted as saying of the production:

 â€œThis is the ‘don’t miss’ show of our 2022 season! ‘Mamma Mia!’ is back on the Rock with a brand-new production that will literally have you dancing in (the) aisles. I am thrilled to bring this show back on the Leiman Mainstage with an incredible cast of powerhouse voices to bring this music to life.”

The FRP show features Cayman Ilika as Donna, Merrill Peiffer as Tanya, Tauren Hagans as Rosie, John Preator as Harry, Eddie Maldonado as Bill, Jason Watson as Sam, Nicolette Hernendez as Sophie, J.J. Niemann as Sky, Jelani Bell, Evan Bertram, Louis Hansen, Kaitlyn Harrington, J.P. LaPorte, P.J. Palmer, Mady Bec Rogers, Kelsey Schergen, Scott Treadway and J. Taylor Wright.
