WAYNESVILLE — The Haywood County Fair will be held Oct. 6-9 at the Smoky Mountain Event Center, with many activities centered in
and around the Apple Orchard Building at the Smoky Mountain Event Center, 758 Crabtree Road, here.
The fair offers a “once-a-year opportunity to celebrate our cultural heritage, come together as a community and enjoy four packed days of downhome fun,†a fair press release stated.
“Be entertained by big-name concerts, a Friday night rodeo, the Haywood Idol singing competition and knee-slapping shows — including pig racing! Catch action-packed events, including the
popular Thursday (Oct. 6) night bingo and an all-new Kids Demolition Derby.
“The midway carnival will be humming with new rides this year, and families can partake in new inter- active experiences, from ax-throwing to virtual-reality dairy tours,†the release noted.
Gate admission to the fair is $8 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, and free for kids under 5. Hours are 5-10 p.m. Thursday (Oct 6), 5-10 p.m. Friday (Oct. 7), 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 8), and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 9).
