CANTON —  The two-day 114th Canton Labor Day Festival (Sept. 4-5) will feature its “headliner” band Diamond Rio from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Sorrells Street Park here.

Among the other featured performs during nonstop concerts from noon to 10 p.m. each day is Joe Lasher, who was born and raised in Weaverville. He is a nationally known country music entertainer and songwriter who has been calling the stage home since he was a teenager. He will perform from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4.

A full listing of the musical entertainers and the times they will perform appears in the Calendar of Events on Page. B2 of this edition.

“On Sept. 4 and 5, this local favorite returns bringing you some of your most-liked breweries, an exciting music lineup that you’ve been waiting two years to hear, food and our local arts and crafts vendors,” an event promotion stated. Attendees are being urged to bring lawnchairs.

Tickets, which are $10 for each day, or $15 for a two-day pass, will be sold at multiple Ingles locations.
