 RALEIGH — Independence Day will be a time for North Carolina law enforcement to crack down on drunken driving. 

Specifically, the N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program is running its Operation Firecracker campaign from June 26 through July 11 as part of the “Booze It & Lose It” initiative to reduce drunken driving.
